Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

An Average Initial Experience

I have had this unit for a couple months. I have the matching heat pump dryer too. The initial quality was poor. I think Samsung has poor quality control. The unit came with a very loud water pump. Samsung sent out a repair service and they said some pumps are noisy, there is nothing wrong with it. Well we another repair company agreed with me and I am awaiting a replacement of the pump. Other than that the unit was very good. Otherwise very quiet. Some problems include a very sensitive on off button. Same on the dryer. Samsung should change to an actual push button. Other than that everything about the unit is very good. It comes with programs designed for the American market. This means most washer are around 50 minutes. I prefer the longer programs as I believe it results in cleaner clothes. Additional time is nothing as this unit uses little water or energy. I think it does a good job on cleaning and is gentle on clothing. You can get a bit longer washes by changing the settings, but not like European models. The unit has internet so Samsung should be able to do an update and allow longer cycles. I believe you don't need the hot cycles because modern laundry detergents do well in cold or cool water. The unit has a heater. It is quiet (other than my bad pump) and efficient. I like the washer. I recommend buying 4 water hammer dampeners (Lowes has at great price). I recommend buying GE brand rubber feet for this unit. It will help with any noise or vibration and it will give you an inch and a half of extra height. Read instructions. Calibrate your unit. Make sure you always leave the door open or ajar. Don't take any chances for bad smells by closing the door when not in use. I also always keep the detergent drawer ajar or cracked open when not in use. Do this and you will never have a problem with smells in your front loader. Also there is a sanitizing cycle which you will use as directed. Yes, it is smaller than most large size units, but I love the size of this unit. The unit looks nice. Nice noises/tones that some like and others don't. I like that there is a pause button that allows you to open the unit is mid cycle to add clothes. The best thing about this unit is the matching heat pump condensing dryer. If you are looking for the match for the dryer, this is the unit you will need. Oh, it comes with hoses. The hoses do not have right angle connections. If you use the water hammer dampeners this will give you right angle connections. If you don't get the dampeners, I would consider getting hoses with right angle connections. There will be less strain on the hoses than the ones included.
