Ice makers failure

Both the ice makers the craft ice maker on the bottom and the standard ice maker on top has consistently not worked. At times the top would work and the craft ice maker would not. Two years and both ice makers are not working. The potential repair bill is approaching 1000. I would not recommend this product nor will I be purchasing any LG product ever again.

Both Ice Makers failed just out of warranty

Shortly after the one year warranty expired the craft ice maker failed. Even though we were out of warranty LG gave us a new ice maker if we would install it ourself. At six months out of warranty the door ice maker failed. Went back to LG but they would not do anything for us. We spent $345 to have the small fan in the freezer compartment that circulates cold air to the door ice maker repaired. If I bought another LG refrigerator I would try to buy from Costco since they offer an additional one year warranty. The second thing I would do is purchase an extended warranty.

Excellent service for replacement of parts

Required a new craft ice maker as the one which came with the refrigerator was not working properly. The service center was excellent in walking me through all the steps to insure I had followed all the directions correctly. Once it was found the issue was with this part a replacement was shipped and received in short order.

We purchased this during the July 4th sale. We didnt take possession of our newly built house until December 27. The craft ice worked for a short time. Then I had frozen water all over the bottom of our ice tray. I called tech support and they had me do a few steps. It worked for a short time longer and then when I called to complain I was told it is out of warranty. I then found out that there was a class action lawsuit against LG about the craft ice maker. The lawsuit was dismissed and we were told that LG would contact us to get it resolved. We havent heard anything from LG. And would never recommend any LG appliances.

Please read ALL reviews carefully and do NOT trust any positive recent reviews. I have owned this refrigerator for less than 3yrs. It is no longer working. The freezer started defrosting on Thursday and by Saturday the refrigerator was also broken. I called customer service on Friday. They sent my info to a vendor who contacted me a few later. They stated they were coming out the next day Saturday. No one showed on Saturday and since its a weekend I cant get any information regarding if and when someone is coming. This completely unacceptable for a product that is not even 3yrs old. Im pretty sure that once someone comes a part will need to be ordered. Im now 3 full days without a refrigerator and 2 small kids.

Craft Ice Maker issues

We bought the refrigerator approximately 3 years ago. The refrigerator is nice but the craft icemaker has not operated correctly for 18 months. It stopped working completely approximately 2 months ago. It did not produce ice and filtered water through the system which froze in the ice bin. We have received and installed a new icemaker. Were waiting to see if that fixed the problem. We chose the LG brand as it has a good rating but at the current time we are not completely satisfied with the product. We paid a lot of money for the product and its having issue less then 3 years after purchase

Has to be rebuilt in less than 2 years

Had the product for 20 months. Ive had to make several calls to customer service for various reasons. Got a CF error code on the door display and on the app meaning the condenser fan wasnt working. Had a service call and was told the fan and compressor needed to be replaced. When the tech went to order the parts - LG told him to rebuild the unit as the evaporator would fail in the future. 4 different parts have been delivered to my house and the tech is bringing 2 more to completely rebuild the refrigerator. I contacted LG to ask for a refund or new unit and was told the unit had to be fixed and no refund or new unit would be approved. I asked that my warranty period be extended and was told that was not an option either. I know they dont make them like they used to but I would certainly expect it to last more than 20 months and NOT have to have parts replaced. Hoping the dishwasher I recently bought from LG doesnt have the same kind of problems. Will not purchase another LG product.

LG - great warranty

I bought the service agreement. Refrigerator is 4 years old. Ice maker stopped working. Mailed a new one to the house. Technician came 3 days later and installed. We have many LG appliances and this is the first to use a warranty contract. We purchased at Lowes and an A+ for service We paid zero for the repairs

Disappointed

We loved the fridge but the ice maker fan going out after two years is not acceptable. And then LG wants me to pay 400 plus tax to send somebody out to fix it.. very very disappointed in LG a brand I used to really like. After my experience with this fridge though I will most likely not buy another LG product

Bought in November 2022 and have had to call LG several times with problems. Craft ice maker not working - that problem was fixed with a phone call. A couple of weeks ago I called about several different noises. A clicking sound and another I could hear in my whole downstairs. Then I get a CF error code. Condenser Fan not working so they are sending a technician out to look at it in 3 days. Love that its sends me messages through the app for water/air filter change time and error codes. Hate that Im having major problem less than 2 years in. 8 calls to customers service is 7 too many. When I called about the cf code I also asked if they could add a seal check because there doesnt seem to be enough suction on the French doors. I was told after the CF error problem is fixed I can call back to request service on the door seals. Seems to me having the technician check every thing in one visit is more efficient. Guess Ill be making a ninth call Thursday.

Known defects do not buy

Ice fan went out after 16 months of normal use just outside of warranty window. Ice maker and water dispenser will not work without the fan. LG is not helping with repair and wants $250 for a replacement part or $400 to have a technician come out and fix. LG knows about this problem with this fridge but continues to sell it. Buyer beware seems like a good deal up front but you will pay for it in the long run.

Great Customer Service

Great customer service they actually notified me to tell me that my craft Ice maker was not working. They sent out a replacement part right away and which was nice and easy to install.

Buyer Beware- Craft Ice Maker a Problem

I bought this refrigerator 2 years ago and already had to replace the craft ice maker. The technician said it happens frequently and we were lucky it was the first time. Im concerned as the warranty runs out the expense to repair this machine. These models are not cheap and I expected more from LG. I like the refrigerator and hope that it lasts a while but only 3 stars because of repair so soon.

Trouble

In about 1 yr after purchase it started giving us trouble. LG refused to take care of the problem at first but after escalating the claim they finally relented. Its been about two weeks since they promised to send a tech. Still waiting

Great disappointment

I bought this fridge years back mostly for the craft ice feature. The craft ice machine after about two months started failing to function correctly and make a jack hammering sound at all sounds of day or night as it tried to break open the ice mold and dispense the craft ice. Eventually the unit broke completely from constantly trying to function unsuccessfully.

Like this much better than previous fridge. Double doors on refrigerator make it easy to find things. Very easy to clean. My husband grandkids are big fans of the giant round craft ice balls and the water dispenser in the door

Nice fridge not reliable

Weve enjoyed this refrigerator but then a fan motor broke in less than two years causing it to make tons of noise and requiring service that has been quite a hassle. So not as reliable as I would have expected.

If you want a reliable ice maker in your fridge do not buy this product. My craft ice maker had to be replaced just after it was out of warranty and the regular ice maker no longer works Ive been trying to get a call back from customer service got the past two months without success. The refrigerator works well once you get the hang of closing the French doors.

If I could give it a zero. The right door wont stay closed the freezer often doesnt close all the way and the ice maker leaks. I thought basted on lg it would be quality. Its 100 crap. Never again.

Several challenges with ice maker.

Throughout the almost 2 years of ownership we have had several problems with our ice makers. Some of the issues have been with the internal ice maker which we had to already have replaced at one point. Today May162024 the external ice maker is not producing ice. The refrigerator has been fine.

Problematic Freezer

While Im happy with the configuration of the refrigerator and freezer after previously owning a side by side during the year and a half Ive owned it the freezer stopped working for a day or two melting ice cream and defrosting meat only to restart again on its own making it unreliable.

Ehhh...a lot of repairs

I really like this fridge. Its a great size and I like the counter depth..however...I have had it less than 2 years and already have a major issue. Since its over a year LG will not cover it and now having to spend several hundred dollars on repairs. This after it has been making LOUD fan noises for months. So loud it was keeping the house awake from multiple rooms over. I tried a local repair man and he said he did not work on the LG products as they consistently needed repair. Not sure if I would go the LG route in the future.

Love this fridge Hoping it lasts forever

My husband and I bought this refrigerator about three years ago and we really love it. The layout is great. Makes perfect sense for the way and types of food restoring. We love having regular easy ice and we really love having fancy craft ice. It is a party trick my husband loves to pull serving friends drinks over the fancy round ice. We did recently have the craft icemaker break which was annoying. However LG got us a replacement icemaker for free. It was super easy to install and were back up and running with the fancy ice. Love the fridge hope that breakage isnt indicative of anything to come and that it lasts forever.

Both Ice Makers Replaced

I bought this refrigerator about 18 months ago have had to change the filters twice and recently had both ice makers regular and craft replaced. To the credit of LG a repair person was sent out under warranty and replaced the ice makers at no charge. We do like the overall function of the refrigerator/freezer.
